The emerging city of Allegan, Michigan has been the proud home to a new and exciting entertainment venue since its “soft” opening at the end of December 2017. The action-packed adventure facility, Allegan Event, was established to provide a family adventure for not only locals to enjoy, but tourists from the tri-state area as well.
The indoor hotspot is still a fresh venture for Jim and Michelle Liggett as it is now officially open to the public Thursdays from 3pm-8pm, Fridays 3pm-9pm, Saturdays 10am-9pm, and Sundays 11am-7pm during fall, winter, and spring months. Starting Memorial Day, the facility will operate 7 days a week.
The Center itself commands attention at 13,000 sq. ft. and features 20 interactive attractions visitors can engage with. The main attraction, and one that stands an impressive 35 ft., is the 2 level Sky Trail® Discovery ropes course that consists of 60 unique elements, 2 Sky Rail™ zip lines, and a QUICKJump free-fall exit from the second level in which participants can experience a controlled yet thrilling descent.
If participants are smaller in stature and do not reach beyond 48” tall, they can traverse across the Sky Tykes® ropes course that is designed with children in mind. It features the same U.S. patented overhead tracking system as the larger Sky Trail® ropes course but is smaller to accommodate for more petite participants. On the ropes course, children are able to engage with 13 different interactive elements and take a ride on their own Sky Rail™ zip line. For an added level of comfort, adults accompany and guide their child as they make their way across the various elements.
If the adventurous Sky Trail® and Sky Tykes® ropes courses with their Sky Rail™ zip lines are not enough to draw you in, Allegan Event Center also features 16 vibrantly colored 30-foot high Clip ‘n Climb® climbing walls. The various walls range in difficulty as well as appearance and nimble participants are free to choose between two Speed Climb structures or other particularly clever named walls such as Morse Code, Spaghetti Junction, Dry Ice and more. The facility also offers thrill seekers the chance to experience the Vertical Drop Slide which involves being outfitted in a skydiving suit and helmet, holding a handlebar while being hoisted up the slide and releasing at the 30-foot peak to enjoy a 10-foot free fall before they slide down the attraction from the top down.
All of the climbing walls were originally designed by New Zealand based company, Clip ‘n Climb®. RCI recently gained the role of manufacturer and distributor of the colorful walls in November 2017. The attractions make a great addition to any facility and certainly stand out at Allegan Event.
