Entry Level Structural Engineer

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the design and engineering of steel frame adventure courses, climbing towers and other adventure course products. Applicant must be very familiar with steel, concrete and wood structural design; as well as applicable code books ASCE – Minimum Design loads for Buildings and Other Structures, AISC Steel Construction Manual, and the International Building Code. Under the direction of the lead engineer, the responsibilities will include creation of analytical models, structural design of adventure course structures, connection design, foundation design, and cable systems design.

Fabricator/Welder – Production

Job Summary: Production welding requiring 1-2 years of experience or equivalent in a manufacturing setting. With readily available supervision and technical guidance, positions material to be welded, using jigging fixtures in most cases, and applies hand-eye coordination to achieve the desired weld. Materials welded will be steel using methods of gas shielded welding. Welding positions are routine and work may be characterized as longer production runs. Works from specifications, drawings, prints, and welding symbols.

Field Installer

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the installation of structural steel adventure products. Requires general construction and mechanical knowledge, flexible schedule and the ability to travel both domestic and internationally without restrictions. This individual performs various duties as assigned and must conduct themselves as a professional representative of Ropes Courses Incorporated. This role requires extensive travel (75%) so applicant must possess or be able to obtain a passport, have a clean driving record (ability to be insured on company fleet policy) and be willing to submit to a background and drug screen.

  • Participate in safe material handling and installation processes from initial unloading to final inspection of project.

Inspector / Trainer

Job Summary: An Inspector/Trainer at RCI plays a highly visible role as they interact with clients on a constant basis. The position requires a professional presence, excellent verbal and written communications skills, and knowledge of all aspects of RCI operations. A person in this position is responsible for annual inspections and training sessions for new installations as well as existing clients. Timely recording and reporting is a must. Must be comfortable presenting to large groups and introducing new RCI technologies and products to clients. Extensive travel is required for this position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct training for inspectors, operators, and operator trainers at both Ropes Courses, Inc. and client locations worldwide as needed
  • Conduct client safety inspections per RCI training and inspection guidelines utilizing all RCI resources
  • Communicate inspection or training results to Services Manager
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients and RCI internal departments
  • Provide immediate feedback to clients and the Services Manager regarding compliance issues
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all Ropes Courses, Inc. products including requirements for the integrity of the structure, elements, and safety equipment and all applicable RCI policies and procedures

International Project Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with both RCI International Sales (internal), RCI International Distributors, and cruise ship clients to develop project plans based on upcoming contracts.
  • Meet with RCI Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service departments to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements for each project.
    Plan project timeline and milestones, develop budgets, and identify resources needed.
  • Monitor the progress of projects and hold status meetings. Communicate any changes in project scope, schedule, and/or cost on a regular basis to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in all project launch and post-mortem meetings.
  • Create, maintain, and track project performance using SalesForce and other corporate software(s) to analyze the completion of short and long-term deadlines, forecast future projects, and maintain full transparency across all departments.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients and internal departments to ensure that project statuses are communicated in a timely manner to ensure client expectations are met and/or fully communicated.
    Review and approve documentation prepared for the client.
  • Contribute to the quality control of each project.

Material Handler

Job Summary:

This position is accountable for material handling of steel during the fabrication process

Painter

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for painting steel components per specifications of projects, using traditional spray techniques.

Job Responsibilities:

· Responsible for steel paint production as projects comes out of the fabrication process

· Maintain detailed records pertaining to the project, including mil readings, paint consumption, and ambient environment readings

· Take direction from Supervisor as needed for specific products

· Coordinate projects based on project requirements and time restrictions

Sewing Operator

Job Summary: This position is responsible for slinglines and carabiners as they are needed for courses, work orders and product inventory. Daily assignments could include production of slinglines, repairs, restocking and maintaining slingline inventory as well as all supplies needed for their production and creating templates for new designs.

Shipping Associate

Job Summary: General Warehouse or production labor position requiring the ability to read production or shipping documents. Primary duty includes loading course components to skids under the supervision of the Shipping Supervisor.

· Final inspection and loading of all courses to be shipped to customers

· Coordination with material handlers (cleaners) for bundling material and returning carts

Transportation Specialist

Job Summary: RCI is seeking a dependable and efficient CDL truck driver responsible for the transport of courses for installation as well as the equipment necessary to complete those jobs. Safe delivery of the product to the customer is of the highest priority. Driver may be asked to fulfill other duties while they are not on the road including but not limited to: assisting the install crew with on-site functions, cleaning and regular maintenance of the truck or assisting on the production floor. Must be organized, detailed oriented, and comfortable working independently. A clean driving record and commercial driving experience is a must.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Delivering completed steel courses installation equipment to customer site and offloading them prior to the arrival of the installation crew
  • Returning equipment and dunnage to Ropes Courses Inc. and offloading
  • Provide assistance to installation crew on job site, if necessary
  • Must have the ability to obtain OSHA and applicable equipment certification and maintain these certifications upon renewal
  • Have all DOT and State of Michigan licensing current and without restrictions at the time that the position is accepted and keep all licensing current during the time of employment with RCI
  • Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle
  • Drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
  • Pick-up and safely transport goods to intended destination
  • Ensure contents are properly secured in truck, flatbed to prevent damage/injury
  • Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries
  • Assist in mapping driving routes
  • Stay on predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery
  • Communicate with dispatch as needed
  • Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip
