PITTSBURGH, PA – Highmark SportsWorks®, located at Carnegie Science Center, has a mission to inspire learning and curiosity by uniting the experience of sports for every age level with the laws of science that control sports. Visitors explore science in every day life experiences like batting a ball, or riding a bike, and on June 19th, they’ll get to explore the wonder of traversing a Sky Trail® ropes course as well!
The facility will feature a 20′ tall Sky Trail® Discovery with 11 rope and steel elements, the infamous walk the plank feature and a 60′ Sky Rail™ zip line customized to fit their space. Sitting directly underneath the Sky Trail® will be a Sky Tykes® ropes course specifically for kids under 48″ tall.
“We love the idea of bringing new experiences to our guests, especially experiences that are not, on their face, science, and making them realize there is science in their everyday lives,” said Dennis Bateman, Senior Director of Exhibits and Experience for Carnegie Science Center. “The ropes course will be a great way for them to consider the physics, physiology and psychology of something active kids do every day, but at a great scale, in a social setting, and with some interesting twists.”
