ALLEGAN, MI – West Michigan is getting a brand-new outdoor attraction in August!

Sky Tour®, a ziprail canopy tour, is being installed at Allegan Event in Allegan, MI. RCI’s crew has been onsite for a couple weeks building the massive new outdoor attraction. When finished, it’ll feature 6 Sky Rails® totaling over 750-feet in length. 

Modern Zipline Experience

So what exactly is Sky Tour®?

Sky Tour® is RCI’s modern solution on the classic zipline canopy tour. We eliminated the metal cables and use our patented Sky Rail® product. That’s not the only thing we’ve helped to eliminate. Standard zipline excursions also require multiple staff members to act as guides, reservations and long waits. An hour-long zipline excursion may ultimately only include 4-5 actual zipline rides.

With Sky Tour®, once participants are on the course, they’re feel to move at their own pace and experience as many zips as they’d like! In a matter of 15-20 minutes, they might have 10-15 rides, sending them soaring through the air 20-40 feet above the ground. 

Sky Tour® utilizes a computer-controlled system to manage traffic and ensure only one participant is on a ziprail at a time, keeping course participants safe and helping our customers minimize staffing. 

One of the advantages of using metal rails instead of cables is that we’re able to add curves, giving participants a new thrill as they soar through the air.

Outdoor attraction for the whole family

RCI designs its adventure products with the whole family in mind so the Sky Tour® course can be enjoyed by everyone. Allegan Event features multiple outdoor attractions including a gaming area, a human maze and mini-golf. Even if mom and dad didn’t want to experience the new course, they could enjoy a drink on the patio or play a round of mini-golf.

Indoors at Allegan Event is Michigan’s largest indoor ropes course, a massive two-level course featuring two Sky Rails® and dozens of rope, beam and bridge obstacles. The venue also features Clip ‘n Climb climbing walls, a low ropes course for kids, arcade games and a cafe.

Safety first

Sky Tour® utilizes RCI’s patented overhead tracking system, so once a participant is loaded onto the course, they never unclip or are detached from the tracking system. Each participant is fitted with a harness and clipped into the course with a slingline. This allows participants to move freely around the course at their own pace. When they’re ready to zip, they can just go! No additional equipment or staff support is required.

Open for business

The new Sky Tour® is being completed in late July and once final inspections are complete, the course will be open for business! It’ll be a great place to celebrate the end of summer. Better yet, as we enter the autumn months, guests will be treated to some amazing views of the surrounding forest and the Kalamazoo River, which meanders only a couple hundred yards away.
