Hattiesburg Zoo Adds New 4 Story Aerial Ropes Course

There’s a new way to test your limits at the Hattiesburg Zoo on the Sky Trail® and Sky Tykes® adventure ropes courses. The new family-entertainment attractions allow thrill seekers of any age to experience a unique challenge unlike any other that the Zoo provides.

The Sky Trail® Explorer stands 4 stories tall and has 27 elements of varying difficulty that kids and adults over 48” tall can experience on their own. Kids that are only 42-48” tall can experience the adventure with a paid chaperone that assists them through the obstacles. Kids that don’t meet the height requirements have their own special course, Sky Tykes®, with platforms that stand just 3’ from the ground.

“Hattiesburg Zoo has several great attractions including a carousel, but they wanted to expand their offerings for the teenagers and young adults that visit their zoo,” said Marissa Ticknor, sales manager at Ropes Courses, Inc. “Sky Trail® attracts participants of all ages and was the perfect fit for their needs!”

Marissa worked with Hattiesburg Zoo’s Director of Business Operations, Salem Bunkheila. It took less than 90 days to finalize the project and have it ready for manufacturing and installation. The multi-level attraction is the first ropes course in the Pine Belt region.

“The zoo took advantage of unused space in a unique, exciting and adventure based way. The 3 level Sky Trail® gives a great scenic view of the zoo and an aerial overlook of several nearby animal exhibits. It’s a whole new experience that will attract both new and existing Zoo members. Participants are sure to leave with new memories and stories to tell!”

The High Adventure Ropes Course will operate during normal zoo hours. Sky Trail® tickets are $13 and $6 for the Sky Tykes®. For more information about Hattiesburg Zoo and it’s newest attractions visit their website www.zoohattiesburg.com.
